It is often said ” If we approach an issue the same way, we will always get the same result”
Let’s approach the care of the less privileged patients with facial deformity diseases from an unconventional perspective.
Proposed Abuja Craniofacial hospital for the needy is located at Sabon Karshi, an hour drive from Abuja. It occupies a land of 7,200 square meters with building approval secured. The perimeter fencing has been completed, borehole in place as well as a 4-bedroom apartment for prospective construction workers.
It has 4 major buildings; an administrative building that equally has accident and emergency department. It also has Male/female wards, theatre as well as a the 4th building comprising guest house and private wards.
When completed, the hospital will care for the poor. The high quality of treatment will attract the wealthy and as the only advanced craniofacial centre in black Africa, it will serve as a referral centre for training and research in the continent.
A total of 420million naira (1.08 million dollars) is needed for the hospital building.
Let’s join hand to chart a new course for CRANIOFACIAL SURGERY AMONG THE POOR IN AFRICA.
