72 Indigent Patients with Facial Deformities to Benefit from Free Corrective surgery in Warri.
Osaro Isaac (not real name), a 35 year old applicant with 7 year history of progressive facial swelling is among the 72 patients billed to benefit from free corrective surgery in Warri, Delta state of Nigeria. The week-long free surgery programme commenced on Monday 29th April at central hospital, Warri, with the screening of 72 patients.
The free surgery programme is the 21st edition by Cleft and Facial Deformity Foundation (CFDF), an Abuja based non-Governmental Organisation. The programme is a tripartite programme anchored by CFDF in collaboration with TY Danjuma Foundation and Delta State Government.
‘The programme is organized periodically,and usually lasts one week, so as to allow volunteer professionals return to their various duty posts’ Mr Solomon Ibrahim, the manager of the foundation stated. According to him, surgery commences immediately and will last for a week while registration of patients continue throughout the programme.
