Adedokun Florence hailed from Gbogi compound in Ilaji-ile in iwajowa local government area of oke ogun. According to professionals, 12 extra teeth were found in Florence mouth. Dr Osaro Eke, the dentists in charge stated that these teeth are referred  to as retained  deciduous  teeth.  He  however acknowledged  that Florence’s presentation is rare because the common occurrence of such teeth are usually from 1-3. Timothy (not Real name), the elder brother of Florence had a different story.

According to him, the multiple teeth referred to as ‘Adipele’ usually occur as a result of somebody cutting yam in the mouth. This traditional belief was corroborated by Pa Ogunkunle, a community leader, as a common belief in the environment. However Dr Osaro dismissed this belief as a pure superstition.

Dental disparities is a critical problem to human health. We should always be conscious of dental hygiene because whatever we inject into our body through mouth may affect our body system if oral care is neglected. Having dental issue also lower self esteem. Such people might become object of ridicule in the public. Thanks to our own son from Ago-Are Dr. Bayo seidu Bello and his team for making a great impact in the life of this young lady. The dental procedure will remove her shame among peers, and it will build her confidence in public speaking. Well done.
